Hello all. Does anyone know how I can find vacation deals on Samhian in October on the island? I saw a flier at the Bavarian Festival in Gaylord this past April advertising for rooms at $300 dollars for 2 nights stay including ferry tickets, I am trying to find this hotel. There will be a very large group of us coming up to the island that weekend and we are looking to rent about 6-8 rooms.

I've been coming to Mackinaw Island since my son was 18 months old. He is not 18 years old!!! Everytime we come to the Island we always go on the carriage rides tours. No 2 stories are the same. Well on the 2nd part of our tour we had Brett.
What a wonderful tour guide. He had a sense of humor, loves his job and the horses!! What really impressed me was, there was an incident with one of the boys and Armstrong the horse and I love animals so I mentioned it to Brett. I was soooooooooooooo excited Brett addressed it right away to the youngster and would follow up. I hope he did!! I want to commend Brett on an awesome job he does!! Keep up the great work and don't leave your job!!! I can hardly wait to come back next year.

It's been 30 years since I first visited Mackinaw as a child. I, along with my wife & children, am fascinated by it's beauty and charm. It is a national treasure!

Thank You Murray Hotel. Your hotel is the best hotel on the island, reasonably priced and it was like stepping back in time. The room was the most romantic we've ever stayed in and I suggest for couples who want romance and gold star hospitality that they book an experience with your inn. Thank You!

To BD, above: re: travel with dog. We brought our English Bulldog to the Baymont Hotel --very accomdating. of course we brought doggies supplies and he is well mannered. I would not recommend bringing him to the island--just too much chaos and exposure to germs, etc. It all depends on what you wish to do in the area. There is plenty of walking for dog around area.

We are about to see the Island in a few days. This will be my third trip, my husband's first. I can't wait to ride the horses again, and show my husband the beauty of the greatest island in the country!

Has anyone traveled to Mackinac with their dog? I'm thinking of bringing my chocolate lab and I'm wondering if it will be too much of an inconvenience.
