I grew up in Traverse city, MI. I just found this website and I'm looking to move back to the area. If anyone knows... I would like to get a job at one of the stables for the summer or possibly caring for the horses in the winter when they go off the island, how do I go about finding where they go?

I have returned from my yearly color-run through Northern Michigan, and find myself still dreaming about my stay on Mackinac Island. The Island has a "magic" about it and you find yourself never wanting to leave there. I'm looking forward to my next trip up there over Christmas and New Years. The Island is truely special then. I hope it never changes, it's perfect in every way.

I LOVE Machinac Island! Especially after the last boat leaves at night!

We just visited in September 2004. Stayed at the lovely Island House Hotel. Great meals and service. Enjoyed the historical buildings, shopping, and also the many cultural "flavors" of the Island !

I visited Mackinac Island in 1982 while stationed at K. I. Sawyer AFB. It was only a day trip, but the beauty of your area, unspoiled by automobile traffic, left me wanting more! I think this is why my favorite movie is "Somewhere in Time" with Christopher Reeve and Jane Seymour!! Since I can't visit Mackinac Island in person right now, I've added this website under "favorites" so I can visit you virtually any time I want!!

I went to Mackinac Island when I was about 6 years old. I'm now 18 but I can still remember everything we did there. It was great. I can't wait to go again.

I have visited this website many times- love viewing the pictures that bring back such good memories, but just noticed the guestbook this evening..thank you for making it avaiable. I've told so many about thise website and encouraged them to visit to get a feel for the Island's special beauty and serenity. I grew up on Mackinac, lived there well over 25 years and I love the fact that my family has a place in the Island's history. I enjoy telling all of the unique lifestyle and the safe and wonderful environment we were raised in, not to mention our daily airplane commute in the winter to the mainland for high school..yes I'm showing my age! I miss those special times so much, but am so appreciative that I lived there and know what true quality of life is about. Best wishes to all my friends. Dee
