To answer that air conditioning question about Mission Point, we just got back from staying there and it was no problem. The breeze is cool enough coming off the lake that air conditioning is not needed. The resort provides fans in your room as well-overhead and box. It is a very nice resort, we enjoyed it immensely. Have fun! We are back in Texas now and wish we were back on Mackinac! Best!

Mackinac Island is a great place to visit after school gets out. My family enjoys the lilac festival, and we try to go there every year. Thanks Mackinac Island!
Website: 'www.mackinac.com' is a great site! One of the best I've seen in a long time. Your site is very easy to navigate, clean and professional looking, and most of all it gives us all the information we need about Mackinac Island! Thanks!

My husband and I are making our first trip to the island during the week of the Fourth of July. We are staying at Mission Point, and I just found out that their rooms are NOT air conditioned. Since I live in a state that can be unbearably hot and humid, I can't imagine not having air conditioning in July. Will it be a problem? Is it really comfortable enough without it? Should I change hotels?

We celebrated or 30th anniversary at the Grand. The island is so clean and beautiful and the hospitality at the hotel was superb. This is a great place to vacation.

15 days and counting! and we get to spend 5 relaxing days/nights on the island. It's all we ever talk about, our trips to the island, and there have been many...our friends and family must be sick of it by now! But I know we'll never get tired of it though. Love the website, it's our home page.

Mackinac Island Carriage Tours website has lots of helpful information on island tours - http://www.mict.com. You'll enjoy the narration of your carriage driver as well as the clip clopping sound of the horses.
Hourly bike rentals are fun too but until you know where to go you might waste precious time. If you have plenty of time I would suggest doing both!! Tandems are lots of fun for leisure rides.
Enjoy!

Been to the Island many times but never walked around. Does anyone know if this is level ground ( around the island) I know there are good hills within the island (not as young as I used to be ) and very much out of shape.
