Jul and Jake, I can't believe its over. Our trip to mackinac went so fast. i am so sad to know it is the only time we get together in a whole year, but just know that I cherish every moment we shared. I hope our wishes come true from the rocks. I know you both share the same deep feeling I do about the island, we have made some GREAT!!! memories there. I love you guys. Thanks for this site mackinac.

i loved mackinac island.i worked there at Joann's Fudge Shop summer of 2004.I met my boyfriend there, but funny thing is that he is a friend of my brother's from 10 years ago.my brother has been working on the island for 9 years and last year my mom and aunt also worked there.we all worked for the Nephews,my mom and my aunt at the main st.hotel,me at jaonn's fudge and my brother at Mighty Mac hamburgers,my boyfriend was a fudge maker at joann's.It really is a fun place to work, and you get to meet so many people from all over the world. It's great.

Was there as a child and my husband and I plan to come back this Fall for our 25th anniversary , can not wait!! It is one of my best childhood memories for a vacation (being on mackinac island). Thank you for the great site to check all the things out. :-)

Was glad to be able to get on here to get some idea of what to expect as I have not been on the island since I was a young child and am now 50 years old.

We are planning a trip to Mackinac but am confused on the no car thing. Do you leave the car somewhere b/4 you get on the ferry? How do you manage suitcases and bikes (if you bring them)? I need help with the logistics? Thanx!

TO EMILY FROM MICHIGAN / WALKING AROUND THE ISLAND ( 8.2 MILES ) IS A GREAT EXPERIENCE. THERE ARE NO HILLS / JUST BEAUTIFUL SCENERY. I'VE DONE THIS MANY TIMES WITHOUT ANY DIFFICULTY. IF YOU DO WALK BRING ALONG SOMETHING TO DRINK / EAT BECAUSE THERE ARE PICNIC TABLES ALONG THE WAY FOR YOU TO STOP AT. ENJOY YOUR WALK!!!!

We highly recommend Mackinac Island to everyone, Craig's first visit was last year (we went 2 times to plan our wedding!) and we were just married up there 2 weeks ago. It was the most magical experience, more than we ever could have imagined!! We are already planning on making another trip up there later this summer. We cannot say enough about all the wonderful people we met along the way. Thanks so much for being such a special place!

My wife & I love Mackinac Island. We have been there 5 times now. We bring our Great Dane dog & he loves it too. We stay at Mission Point Resort & eat at their outside restaurant where they allow dogs. They even have a dog menu!!! What a great place!!!
