This is to Mary from WISCONSON. What do you mean no HILLS.You must of not went up to the fort.If you have a hard time walking your not going to like the island unless you take a taxi everywhere.I was up there in May of 2005 the last time I was up there must of been over 20 years ago. Now i know why its very expensive. and I dont plan on seeing it again in my life time........

My family and I are former residents of
Michigan.I miss it back there and would
like to move back. We would stay at the
Grand Hotel whenever we visited the Island. Mackinac is a beautiful peaceful
place to visit.

Just wanted to tell everyone what a special place Mackinac Island is. My husband and I spent 4 wonderful days at the Iroquios Hotel over the fourth of July. I lost a valuable gold watch with diamonds all around the face while we were on the island. It was a gift from my husband who is terminally ill so the sentimental value far exceeds its monetary value. I checked at the police station and spoke to two officers who were very professional and kind. They suggested we check at the Visitor's Center. When we went there we were pleasantly surprised to find that someone had found it and turned it in. I am so very grateful to have it back. My only regret is that the person who found it didn't leave their name. If by chance that person is reading this please accept my heartfelt gratitude. To anyone who is thinking about visiting Mackinac Island, don't hesitate, you will absolutely love it. I highly recommend the Iroquios.
