I was on the island for the first time this past summer. It was wonderful! We were only there for a few hours since we were staying in St. Ignace. My husband and I will be back the week before labor day for 4 days. No kids! We are so looking forward to it. Our friends wanted us to go with them on a cruise, but we much rather be on Mackinac Island!

I love Mackinac Island and the whole Mackinac area. We go up there at least four times a year. It is a beautiful place year round.

I have very found memories of Mackinaw Island I was 9 years old when I had the awesome priveledge to experience this wonderful island. I am now in my 40's and this is one of my favorite memories,of my childhood. The whole concept of no motorvehicles has stuck with me as the ultimate consideration for the planet. If you want a awesome place to take the family for a vacation or just for the day Mackinaw Island would be a really good choice.

We moved to Saginaw MI in 1955 when dad was transferred there by GM. We moved back to OH in 1964 (again a transfer) I went to the Island with my Godmother when I was 14. I fell in love with it then. I am going to be coming back (yes after all these years) in June with a friend to see the lilac festival. We will be on the Island for 4 days and 3 nights. I can't wait.

We are looking into summer plans. I don't know much about Mackinac but it looks beautiful. Is it something a 12 yr old girl would like?

Wish I could find a guy who likes Mackinac Island as much as me!! Romantic walks at sunset and picnics on the grass . . . a nice quiet life full of art, music and travel.
