We are thinking about making the trip to the island and wonder if we could take our dog. Any thoughts?

Wow! What a great time we had on the Island. It was so much fun. I had a revelation this trip, after all the years coming up, I finally had my eyes open. I found that you cannot buy a person love, I never felt like I fit in with my family growing up, I always felt like I was on the outside looking in. Then I discovered that my sister loved Mackinac as much as I did,so,we started going together ever year. I finally relize this year that I was being used. It really hurts to relize that and that our trips will never happen again, together anyways. I plan to return and make my own special memories, and take this lesson I have learned and turn it over to God and be thankful for my blessings, and be thankful that he opened my eyes to never be hurt like that again. So, next year I'll be back a better and stronger person. So,thank you again my wonderful Island. You, I know will never break my heart!

My husband and I recently visited Mackinac Island. We stayed four nights and had a wonderful time. I feel like this is good amount of time to stay. We were able to hike and see many sights, take tours, and visit many places. I highly suggest taking the Haunts of Mackinac tour. It is a walking tour visiting various haunted locations throughtout the island. It is quite interesting. While your walking you just hope that YOUR hotel which you are staying is not on the tour!

I began going to the Island in 1949. Earned my first dollar as a kid giving tours to passengers from the North and South American Cruise Ships. Met my wife there in Summer of '60. Still married after 47 years and five grown children. Whole family loves Mackinac and all its memories. At one time (when I was a kid), I lived in a home now known as "Brigadoon". I was actually in the very first Lilac Day Parade and have a picture to prove it.
Mackinac will be part of us forever.

We celebrated our parents\' 50th anniversary on the island. All their children and grandchildren were present for the 2-night stay at Island House, and dinner at the Grand. We had a most relaxing time and could not have been happier that we chose to celebrate in this manner. I\'ve been going to the island since I was a child and it still is one of my most favorite places to visit.

My husband and I were just married on Mackinac Island last week. We have been going up every year since we met 4 years ago. We are so excited that the island is now an anniversary destination for us. Mackinac Island is truly one of our favorite and most magical places to visit!!

I have been going to Mackinaw Island about once a year for 40 years, it's my favorite place that I have been to so far. I just love the fact that there aren't any cars on the Island and it's so peaceful. We usually stay in Mackinaw City but last summer we stayed on the Island at the Lakeview Motel we had our bikes with us and that was so much fun being able to ride whenever we wanted to, it was so nice being there after the ferrys went back to Mackinaw City and St. Ignace. My friend and I are planning on coming next summer and staying on the Island again, I can't wait.

Perhaps it's just my Michigan pride, but Mackinac Island is magical. I miss it like an old friend.
