We are coming to the island for our 30th anniversary. There is no place like it on earth. How lucky we all are to be able to experience this. I intend to come here at least once a season and make it a tradition with my family.

I went to Mackinac Island alone years ago. Took my wife there 4 years ago,and have been there 2 other times,2006&2008,with a grand daughter. LOve it there Just can't figure out how people keep track of which bike is theirs!. Love the horse drawn wagon ride.

My husband, Jeff (born in Flint, MI), took me to this beautiful Island just a couple of weeks ago. I never wanted to leave. It was truly like stepping back in time. It was unbelievably peaceful. I never thought being without motorized transportation could be so relaxing. I just wanted to say that Mackinac Island will forever hold a special place in my heart and my husbands as well. Now I know what all the bragging was about that he's told me for years. :)

I am a friend of John (Jack) Welcher who grew up on Mackinaw Island. I had asked him a while ago to take me there and tell me of his experiences of growing up on your famous island. I had no idea there is so much history in such a small and beautiful place. I was fortunate to meet Mr. Jack Hulett, Mimi Musser of the Grand Hotel, Tom Pfeiffelmann from Star Line and author of the book Mackinac Adventures and Island Memories and cousin Kay at the Medical Center. Many more people whom I will not forget that made my trip as a fudgie memorable. I needed more time and will definately return. Jack has a lot of nice memories with his family and the carriage company that transported many famous people to their destinations while there also. He also has a book coming out soon. I also am a friend of Dick Coates who resides on the island. I missed him this trip, so I will be returning and will look him up also. Thank you for the wonderful hospitality extended. I can't say enough about Mackinaw Island...Janet Groulx

well, we got home last night from our two night stay on the island (first time staying there) and it not only met our expectaions, but greatly exceeded them. the Lilac Tree was just wonderful, lovely accomodations, friendly staff, etc. would stay there again in a heart-beat! the annual race around the island was well run and my husband got first place in his age division.(61 years young). we cant wait to go back and spend more time on the island. what a treat !

I worked on the island the summer of 1982. Worked at Mighty Mac Hamburgers and JoAnns Fudge Shop. Have wonderful memories of tons of fun. I hope to bring my husband and children there sometime soon.

we have been going to mackinaw area for many years now and have been on the island many times and love it all. from the boat ride there, to the horses, the people, the FUDGE, to all of the beauty of the water. we have never spent the night on the island-before- that is, but in two days we will be spending the weekend there. we are so excited. part of our stay there includes a sailboat ride, which we have never done before. everyone should experience mackinaw island at least once in their life !!! love it.
