I cannot express my love of Mackinac Island enough! It is such a wonderful place to visit. We went for the first time in 2006 and I was sad that I had missed out on years of visiting! We took my son (then 12 months old) and it was such a wonderful vacation spot. My son loved it and there was plenty to do with a toddler. We rented a Burley cart to take him on bike rides, walked around, shopped, etc. He was able to play in lots of grassy areas, see the horses and butterflies, loved the ferry rides and carriage rides. We are planning a trip there this year during lilac festival and I cannot wait. It is such a peaceful and relaxing place to vacation. But there are also things for the more adventurous to enjoy. We are within driving distance and it is also an affordable vacation during this tough economic time. I recommend it to all my friends and family.

I just got back from a 15 month tour in iraq....and i am stationed in texas im coming home on leave in a few days and i would really love to come back up to the island again.

When I traveled to island, my stay was completely amazing. The boat road to the island all the way to simply walking everywhere. A simple vacation for a family looking for a time to spend with one another.

It has been a very long time since I last visited the island. I would love to visit again; hopfully be able to stay for a weekend or even longer. I can't wait.
