Looking forward to getting back to the Island after a year off...I've been reading these post just thinking of the wonderful times we have had there. Our wedding was the greatest. Can't wait to get there...we are even bringing another couple who has never been there and will get hooked on the beauty.

We were so lucky to have the opportunity to spend 4 days at the Metivier Inn. This is our favorite place to relax and vacation, everyone is so kind and friendly and its a beautiful place to stay, highly recommend to everyone. See you again soon.

I am coming back to the Island after 2 long years. I hve missed it so very much. The smells, the people and just being there is fantastic. I hve been coming to the Island for the past 20 or so years. Each time is better then the next and makes it harder each time to climb on that ferry for the ride back to the mainland. As soon as you step off the boat the smells and sites hit you. There is nothing like it in the whole wide world. Jul I love you sister and Sher I just miss you so very much..See you soon I hope..Pammielou

Mackinac Island is my favorate place in the world. I have been going up ther for over 20 years first as a child with my GrandParents and now as an adult. Funny enough now with my parents. Every year we do a girls week on the Island and it is the best. We gave up on the shopping and have found some wonderfue trails and hidden spots cave in the woods and crack in the island are 2 of them. It is the most relaxing vacation for me there is so much to see and do I am still finging things I have not done before and there are so many choice. Go off and be alone or stay downtown and shop you even get to learn some history too.

trying to contact a chap called Jeff (Jones?) who used to work with me in London in early 1970s - sure his parents were then residents of Mackinac. He aspired to run a sporting goods shop.

I love it in Mackinac! Its so peaceful and beautiful. The hotels are gorgeous and fun to stay in. I love taking the horse carriage rides around the island. Theres always something fun to do. I also like how there are no cars, you can actually enjoy a quiet relaxing vacation.

Thank you Boatnerds.com for the live camera of the Island. I am on it every day watching the sunrise, weather, and lake conditions.

Mackinac Island is an absolute wonderful place to go, I've gone every year since I was just a young child. Family members of mine lived up there every Summer for a couple years around 2005, they owned a couple stores and a restaurant up there. They were some of the most popular stores up there. Its just too bad they were run off the island because the so called 'owners' don't know how to do business very well. Other than that I 100% recommend traveling up there. :-) ..Let's just hope the whole 3 Starbucks up there don't start commercializing the place.

I have yet to meet a person who has not enjoyed Mackinac Island...there is alot of walking but you can rent a bike and go around the Island yourself and the views are beautiful from every direction. You can also do a carriage ride or just walk.
